Locatedin Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college,offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses inWellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community, and have adesire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs andbackgrounds. Facultymembers are responsible for developing educational and evaluation materialsconsistent with the philosophy and framework of the program, MassBay CommunityCollege, Board of Registration in Nursing (BORN) and Accreditation Commissionfor Education in Nursing (ACEN) requirements. The faculty member is responsiblefor maintaining a current Massachusetts Registered Nursing license andexpertise in their nursing specialty. We seek enthusiastic, competent,positive, diverse, and compassionate nursing faculty to help us develop andshape the next generation of nursing professionals.
Thefaculty member participates in the instruction, review, and evaluation ofnursing courses and in assessing student performance. This faculty memberparticipates in departmental, division, and college-related committees,governance, and activities.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Demonstrateteaching effectiveness in the classroom, lab, and clinical area;
- Oversee andwork with students in the clinical environment;
- Teachpre-licensure nursing students across the nursing curriculum;
- Develop instructional materialconsistent with course objectives and aligned with faculty program planning;
- Assign,supervise, and evaluate students in the clinical setting;
- Participate in shared governanceconsistent with BORN regulations and ACEN standards;
- Collaborate with faculty colleaguesand nursing program staff to develop, support, and implement the philosophy,conceptual framework, objectives, and policies of the program;
- Collaboratewith professionals in clinical settings;
- Activelyparticipate in course refinement and program evaluation;
- Collaborate with all facultycolleagues to develop a nursing curriculum plan that shall provide a variety oflearning experiences consistent with the program mission, philosophy, andnursing education outcomes;
- Work collaboratively and withflexibility with the Simulation Services of the Division through effective useof simulation and computer technologies in the classroom and lab;
- Utilize avariety of appropriate teaching strategies to promote students' criticalthinking skills;
- Activelyparticipate in the Systematic Evaluation Plan (SEP);
- Serve as anadviser to nursing students and potential nursing students;
- Serve ondepartmental, division, and college committees;
- Maintaincurrent expertise in teaching through professional development;
- Participate in weekly meetings,special events, pinning, and graduation, some outside of regular work hours;
- Adhere toMassachusetts Community College Contract including but not limited to:
-Serve as an academic advisor tostudents;
-Post and maintain a minimum offour (4) office hours per week;
-Serve on College committees(college governance) as elected or appointed;
-Attend Division, Department, andCommittee meetings;
-Serve on Nursing Programcommittees.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Hold a current unencumberedMassachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing, or able to obtain forout of state applicants;
- Master of Science in Nursing degreefrom a regionally accredited institution of higher education in the U.S.;
- Possess a minimum of two yearsfull-time experience in nursing, or its equivalent, within the last five yearsand evidence of clinical competence;
- Excellentcommunication skills including oral, written, and presentation skills;
- Knowledgeof Microsoft Office applications, and ability to quickly learn new softwarerequirements;
- Commitmentto the use of new learning technologies;
- MaintainHealth Care Provider CPR level appropriate to teaching responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action;
- Experience working in a community college or similar environment;
- Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need;
- Five years of nursing experience;
- 1-2 years of academic classroom & clinical experience;
- Demonstrated curriculum development and implementation;
- Familiarity with the accreditation process.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: These salary ranges are for aMaster's Degree.
$74,000 - $87,325, in accordance with one's education andexperience as dictated by the collective bargaining agreement classificationcompensation structure.
