We are currently seeking a Clinical Nurse - Wound Ostomy (PRN) to support our Enterostomal Therapy Department at Methodist Hospital. This position offers the flexibility of PRN hours with a schedule of rotating days, no weekends, and no holidays! If you are a Registered Nurse looking for the next step in your career, apply today!
Position Overview
The Clinical Nurse - Wound Ostomy provides direction and coordination for patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems. The primary area of expertise is in wound, ostomy, and continence management. This role also serves as a consultant to the healthcare team, offering specialized knowledge and support to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage care for patients with complex wound, ostomy, and continence needs.
- Serve as a clinical expert and resource to the healthcare team in area of specialty.
- Educate patients and families on wound care, ostomy management, and prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop individualized care plans.
- Maintain current certification in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (CWOCN) within 1 year of eligibility.
- Provide consultation and support to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education:
- Associates of Nursing (ASN) required.
- Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Licensure:
- Current Indiana RN license or active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
- Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced life support certifications as required by patient care policies.
- Certification in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (CWOCN) within 1 year of eligibility.
- Experience:
- Prior clinical experience in wound care, ostomy management, or a related field preferred.
