Monday-Friday, Day HoursThis position will oversee the hospice volunteer program, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and ongoing volunteer support, while also performing skilled nursing tasks within the LPN scope during home visits and as part of clinical care. This position will be a key liaison among clients, families, volunteers, and the interdisciplinary hospice team, ensuring compassionate, timely, and compliant care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the hospice volunteer program to meet client and family needs
- Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers
- Serve as a liaison between clients, families, volunteers, and the hospice team
- Conduct home visits and provide skilled nursing care within LPN scope
- Manage medical supplies and maintain accurate documentation
- Support intake processes and urgent visit capacity
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and public health emergency response efforts
This role requires a compassionate, relationship focused self-starter with strong organizational and critical thinking skills along with a commitment to hospice philosophy and public health core competencies.
Minimum qualifications: Associates/technical degree in nursing and moderate experience working as a licensed practical nurse. Must have a valid MN driver's license and reliable, insured transportation. Successful applicant must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug test. This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, Grade 9 MNA/AFSCME Council #65 union position.
Starting salary range is $28.54-$30.28/hour with earning potential up to $37.24/hour.
