Girl Scouts is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls in kindergarten through twelfth grade, and our mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character. At Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania, we’re committed to providing every girl the chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success.
We are one of three Girl Scout councils in Pennsylvania. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports 27 counties in western Pennsylvania and are an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Company History
At Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania, we provide more than 22,000 girls from 27 counties and many different backgrounds and beliefs with the resources to become tomorrow’s leaders. And all of this is made possible thanks to the dedication of 11,500 adult members, 100 full-time staff, 20 board members and countless supporters, all believing in the power of girls.
This year we have two Resident Summer Camp Locations:
Camp Conshatawba - Summerhill, Cambria County, PA
Camp Skymeadow - Avonmore, Armstrong County, PA

Camp Hawthorne Ridge - Girard, Erie County, PA
Camp Conshatawba is in Summerhill, Cambria County, less than 15 miles from Johnstown, about 70 miles east of Pittsburgh and 185 miles from Erie. It sits on nearly 300 acres of wooded, hilly terrain in the Allegheny Mountain Range, with a stream running through the camp. Camp Conshatawba offers a full residential summer camp program for girls, with both specialty sessions offering traditional camp favorites like hiking, swimming, arts, archery and theater, and high adventure sessions that include the low and high ropes course, zip line and climbing wall. Conshatawba is also a great place for troops, service units and groups to rent when resident camp is not in session. There are many activities available for all seasons, including great winter adventures.

Camp Skymeadow is located at the southern tip of Armstrong County, near Avonmore, about a one-hour drive from both Pittsburgh and Johnstown and about 150 miles south of Erie. Home to our residential equestrian program, Camp Skymeadow is situated on 371 acres of grassy meadows and forested hills, featuring miles of trails that will challenge girls as they progress through our equine levels. A new 30-horse barn in 2017 provides a modern facility for years to come. Skymeadow offers residential horseback riding, boating and trip sessions for older girls, horse and water-based sessions for younger girls, family camp sessions and Troop Core Camping.

Camp Hawthorne Ridge in Girard Township, Erie County is located 15 miles south of Erie, 120 miles north of Pittsburgh and 185 miles from Johnstown. It boasts more than 200 beautiful, wooded acres and features specialty day camp sessions for girls of all ages, along with family and Troop Core camping. In addition to special activities, Camp Hawthorne Ridge offers swimming, archery, gaga ball and exploring the beautiful Falk Run gorge.
